Are there any areas likely to have major earthquakes in the near future?

There are several areas considered dangerous based on data accumulated over a long period of time, although precise prediction of earthquakes is not yet possible with today's scientific technology.
Some specialists say that a major earthquake could occur at any moment in SurugaBay, Shizuoka Prefecture, located in the Tokai region.
This area is being constantly monitored.
Active fault lines run throughout the country, but a large portion are found in the Chubu and Kinki regions.
Tokyo also has a relatively large active fault running from its northwestern part toward the east.
Wherever there is an active fault, earthquakes are possible.
