What is the average size of Japanese homes?

The National Census 2000 showed that the average size of an independent house is about 121 m2.
If condominiums and apartments are included, the average is 91 m2.
The average area for one person is 34 m2, which is much smaller than the 61 m2 in the United States.
This is the reason why Japanese houses were once called "rabbit hutches."
The area of 34 m2 is twice as large as it was in the 1960s.
But buying a house is only going to get more difficult. and so chances are slim that the space per person will greatly increase.
